I will gladly give you a Press Conference after Tuesday, for a softball question today(and everyday from now on)
From Ben Smith's Blog ..........
ABC's Jake Tapper managed to get Sen. Barack Obama's attention on the tarmac in Springfield, Mo., this morning.
"What would you tell your Treasury secretary to do differently with the $700 billion?" he asked, according to the pool report.
Obama laughed.
"It's a substantive question!" Tapper shouted."It is! But Jake, we're on a tarmac! That's a pretty good question!" Obama responded.
Tapper: "Have a press conference then!"Obama: "I will! On Wednesday!"
UPDATE: Tapper e-mails that the pool report, from which I drew the quotes initially, was (mildly) inaccurate; these quotes are from his blog.
UPDATE: Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki emails: "He wasn't being literal. The point is no one on this campaign is thinking about anything past Tuesday."
That is to say: No promise of a press conference Wednesday either.
I already told you, if Obama wins, there will not be a single real question answered in DC. The Press buckled. They gave in. They joined the Obama Express.
The reporter's main goal is to get invited to events and activities. The News be damned. The public has no need to know.
